Problem statement
How might we create an application for Doctors and Patients that reduces clinical burnout and improves patient health outcomes?
Why?
Being a patient in the U.S. healthcare system can be frustrating and is a commonly shared sentiment.
Healthcare still has the worst customer experience in the US.
80% of medical info is immediately forgotten after leaving the patient room. (NIH)
2/3 of patients still have questions after visits. There is a lack of patient education. (Wolters Kluwer)
50% of a physician’s workday is spend on admin tasks – leading to burnout (Medscape)
Solution
medEaze organizes the core pillars of healthcare (EHR, Medication Info, After-Care Instructions, Wearables, and Questions) into three streamlined categories to simplify healthcare management:
Patient Information | Patient Education | AI Automation |
---|---|---|
Centralizes data from EHR (Electronic Health Records), including medical history and demographics. | Explains medication information (e.g., purpose, side effects) and provides context through common causes for prescriptions. | Generates summaries of visits or treatments and automates clinical follow-ups(e.g., reminders for lab tests or check-ups). |
Digitizes administrative tasks like patient intake forms and digital insurance cards to reduce paperwork and streamline access. | Offers actionable guidance like at-home remedies and next steps (e.g., lifestyle adjustments, specialist referrals). | Integrates wearables data (e.g., heart rate, activity) to monitor health trends and trigger alerts for anomalies. |
Addresses questions from patients to ensure clarity and adherence to care plans. | Reinforces medication information through automated reminders and updates to ensure patient safety. |
